Buck
“Buck” is a documentary about the real-life “horse whisperer” and the cowboy trainer Dan (Buck) Brannaman. Buck was a key resource and inspiration to the author Nicholas Evans for the title character in Evans’s 1995 novel, “The Horse Whisperer.” "Buck," the movie, portrays Brannaman as a teacher, trainer and therapist, for horses and their guardians. We follow his life as he travels around the country, teaching clinics for people with horse problems and — more often, as Brannaman puts it — “horses with people problems.” Using understanding, compassion and respect, Brannaman tries to help humans understand the language of horses so they can build a solid and rewarding relationship.
