About Us

Tiger: We are The Very Best Cats. At least that is what our Mom thinks. She began calling us that when Motor came to live with us. That was in September of 2008. Of course, I was all ready the very best boy cat. Now she calls us both her very best boy kitty. How can that be? Mom says there is no explaining this, it just is. And I believe her.

K.C. was the original kitty at The Very Best Cats. Mom says Dad adopted her when Daniel and Brandon were little. Daniel and Brandon are Mom's step sons. She lived in 2 different houses before she came to live in our house.  K.C. passed away in early 2011.  It was very sad for all of us, especially Mom.

Mom thinks she adopted me in September of 2006. She told me she wasn't looking for a kitty right then, but there I was, being all cute, right outside the pet store. She picked me up, then put me down. Then she picked me up, and put me down. The 3rd time she decided to bring me home. That was the best decision Mom has ever made. In the beginning, I was always with Mom in her art studio. I was her helper. She used to call me her dog cat because I followed her all around, inside and outside. Mom calls me her biggest buddy.

When I was 3, Mom thought I needed to have a companion. Mom wasn't looking for another kitty right away, but when she went to the mall, Motor was outside of Petco. She knew she wasn't supposed to look at the kittens but she couldn't help herself. And there was Motor. Looking as cute as me. Mom called Dad to have him talk her out of adopting another cat. Dad was busy at a meeting and she couldn't get hold of him. After a lot of thought, Mom decided we needed to bring Motor home. She was afraid that Dad would be mad so she told him she got him a kitten for his birthday, which was the next day. He didn't believe her.

In 2011, Dad decided to adopt a dog.  He had been thinking about it for a long time.  Of course, the most important thing about this new dog was that he had to like cats.   Other than that, the new dog had to be our size, be a rescue dog, not a puppy, and have a good temperment.   So after searching and searching, Dad found Jack at Miranda's Rescue.  It took a while to get used to him, but we did.  He was a good addition to our family, even though he was a dog.  Jack lived with us for 2 1/2 years.  Then he unexpectedly passed away in April of 2014.   Mom was not ready for him to leave so soon.  She was devastated.  So were we.  We love and miss him everyday.

That is all of us for now. At least until Mom decides to grow our family some more.
